Twelve-Step Program

I chose this Wikipedia site because it had a direct overview of the program of the Twelve-step program. This is an important aspect of recovery as everything is based of of these principals. Without following the twelve steps an addict has no chance of recovery. Being able to practice the twelve-steps of this program give a person whom is new in recovery the steps to take on the journey. Sobriety is a gift that only the lucky addicts and alcoholics receive. It is important to have the basic principals broken down step by step.

Professional Journal

Counselor
The magazine for Addiction Professionals

This website is extraordinarily helpful. The website is set up in a very organized fashion. I can pull up issues that I want to see by the month they were published. After pulling up the magazine issue you see a brief description of each of the articles. This is very helpful and time efficient. When you see an article of interest you simply select the article and it is displayed in it's entire form. I will use this website allot. They really thought through the set up of the magazine on line.

Blog

Drug and Alcohol Rehab Blog

The Brandywine Rehab Blog is a good resource for interviews and information. This blog gives a bunch of information about the employees. This will be helpful to me because I will get a better understanding about how a facility like this is run. Being able to communicate with the other counselors on their blogs will be a great tool for conducting interviews.

Webpage

United States Department of Labor

The United States Department of Labor will be an awesome source for information on employment in the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation field. The site allows me to view salaries that are paid in this field in different locations around the United States. The site also talks about requirements that I will need to fulfill in order to become a counselor.
